Whiting. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Carder went to Washington, Ohio, last Friday, called there by the death of the latter's brother, J. A. Parrott, Jr. Mr. Parrott was a familiar figure about Whiting 20 years ago and will be remembered by some of our citizens as the thresher and corn sheller.

J. A. Parrott more familiarly known about Whiting as Jack Parrott, died at his home in Washington C. H. Ohio, at6:30 o'clock Friday morning July 20. He was the son of Jacob H. W. and Eliza Parrott, was born in Fayette Co. Ohio, and spent all his life there except about 3 or 4 years which he spent in the vicinity of Whiting, He was 55 years old and leaves a wife and one daughter, three sisters, five brothers ... The funeral was held from the old home church the "Sugar Creek Chapel" and interment was made in the chapel cemetery ... he had been in falling health for some time from a complication of diseases aggravated by Catarrhal fever.
